Sarah Michelle Gellar’s new bangs are a major hair trend for 2024

We love celebrity hair transformations that we can add straight to our favorite looks folder so we can take them with us to our next hair appointment for a new season refresh. And the latest look that’s turning heads comes from Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar, who debuted a fresh ’70s-style cut on her Instagram page.

The actress posted a photo in which she looks stunning with long curtain bangs that frame her face and flow into long, layered hair. “She’s banging,” Sarah wrote in the caption, and her 4.6 million followers rushed to compliment her. “Killing since 1997,” one wrote, while another commented on the resemblance to singer Sabrina Carpenter’s signature hairstyle.

Sarah credits hairstylist Barb Thompson for her new look, one of today’s biggest hair trends that fits perfectly with fashion’s boho revival.

Memorably, in the third season of the teen vampire show, Buffy (very unsuccessfully) cut her own bangs into tiny “baby ponies.” Taking this lightly, Sarah posted two comparison photos to her Instagram Stories and wrote, “See… decisions get better with age.”
