A video purportedly filmed on a German public transport vehicle has sparked controversy on social media, showing a group of Indians singing and clapping loudly. The footage, shared by a user on X (formerly Twitter), has received mixed reactions.

How did X users react?

The video has drawn strong reactions, with some users expressing their frustration. “Immigrants must respect the local culture. Don’t do anything that disturbs the peace in public,” one user commented. Another remarked: “Even if the German authorities don’t do anything, I really hope this post reaches this shit and that they read all the replies and quotes to know how much we despise them.”

Other reactions expressed how such behavior negatively affects the image of Indians abroad. “Desis leaves no stone unturned to shame us!” One post said, while another said: “You can take the Indian out of India, but you can’t take the India out of the Indian.”

One comment also drew parallels to the cultural tensions in India itself: “This is how we, the core population of Bengaluru, feel when Hindi and North Indian culture are forced upon us.”
