Garrett Wilson considered Davante Adams one of his favorite players as a child

Garrett Wilson, the 2022 Offensive Rookie of the Year, expressed excitement about playing alongside Davante Adams, a player he considered one of his favorites as a child, a great learning opportunity for him. “It’s a great opportunity for me to learn a lot,” Wilson said. “Hopefully we can get things going and start winning games.”
Wilson, 24, works with the four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers for the first time this year, although the connection took some time to develop. They have 21 receptions, 208 yards and two touchdowns in two games. The addition of Adams, who has become the top receiver to catch passes from Rodgers, should further strengthen Wilson’s chemistry with Rodgers.
Adams’ presence in the lineup will be a game-changer for Wilson as he will have to choose between covering the opposing team’s top corner and providing additional safety help. Wilson isn’t worried about losing targets because of Adams’ presence. “No. At the end of the day, it’s okay if I lose a few goals,” Wilson said. “I got 22 the other day. It doesn’t take that many to get where I want to go.” Adams will make his Jets debut on Sunday Night Football against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
