Lake Hornets are making their first state appearance in volleyball

CLINTON, Miss. (WTOK) – The Lake Hornets made school history Thursday by making their first state volleyball appearance.

The Lady Hornets took on the back-to-back state champions, the Ingomar Lady Falcons.

Unfortunately, the Hornets fell to the Falcons in three sets.

First year head coach Jeremy Bowen talks about how proud he was of the girls and the season they had.

“Man, we did our best all season long. You know, the girls started down here. Nobody expected us to be here. You know, we had a tough duel with Saint Andrews. We were very fortunate to be here this year and even have the opportunity to play in the state tournament. And I can’t praise my girls enough just for their tenacity. And the resilience that they have shown over the course of the season just to give us this opportunity,” Bowen said.
