Eagle Watch residents make phone calls as concerns continue at the Missoula facility

Residents of Eagle Watch Estates in Missoula staged a phone and email blitz Thursday afternoon amid ongoing criticism of the building’s management company, Accessible Space Incorporated.

A small number of residents contacted the Minnesota-based management company because they said more work was needed on the facility.

The event follows an inspection by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development this summer. Residents said some improvements were made after the visit.

“They fixed the hole in my ceiling, over my toilet, in that area,” Winslow said. “And that was after over a year when they finally managed to fix the problem and fix the leak that caused it.”

Residents want Accessible Space Incorporated to not become “lackadaisical” on maintenance again, Winslow said, in addition to addressing ongoing maintenance issues, such as sealing Winslow’s apartment.

Bathroom maintenance issues are a common problem, said Alessandro Mitchell, an organizer with the Missoula Tenants Union. Visibility issues associated with newly installed floodlights are also a concern for residents.

Thursday’s event marked the latest vote between Eagle Watch Estates residents and the Missoula Tenants Union.

“The next phase of this project will be work to achieve more direct and consistent communication with management here,” Mitchell said.

Thursday’s calls went to voicemail, Mitchell told reporters, but community-wide efforts will continue throughout the weekend.

NBC Montana reached out to an ASI executive for comment but did not receive a response before deadline.
