Krug wins two games to open ITA Regionals

CHAPEL HILL, NC – Duke women’s tennis freshman Ava Krug started the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regionals on Thursday at the Chewning Tennis Center in Chapel Hill by winning two singles matches and moving on to the main round.

Krug, a product of Sarasota, Florida, opened play Thursday morning with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Lisa Kranec of Elon. She then earned a 6-3, 6-2 win over UNC Greensboro’s Alexandra Dodashev Enbert to continue her run.

The rest of the Blue Devils will begin play at 9 a.m. Friday in the singles and doubles main draw. The full schedule is listed below.
