First Annual Economic Summit in Jackson

First Annual Economic Summit in Jackson

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – It was a unique event Thursday in Jackson.

It was the first annual economic summit hosted by the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce and the Enterprise Group of Jackson.

Leaders from Jackson College, Henry Ford Health and Peak Manufacturing shared their thoughts and ideas with the audience.

The chair of Grand Valley State University’s economics department gave the keynote address. He provided a local, national and global perspective on today’s economy.

“I think the biggest takeaway, other than the economic situation, is that inflation is slowly starting to fall and the economy as a whole is not slowing down. One of the messages is that we are not in a recession,” said Chairman Ryan Tarrant.

Tarrant says collaboration is key to making the economy work, and that’s exactly what’s happening in Jackson County.
