Giants rookie WR Malik Nabers is coming through concussion protocol and will play on Sunday against the Eagles

New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers was evaluated by an independent neurological consultant Thursday afternoon and cleared concussion protocol, the team announced.

Nabers is scheduled to play Sunday at MetLife Stadium against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was able to train on a limited basis on Wednesday, but was a full participant on Thursday.

Despite playing in just four games so far this season, Nabers is second among all rookie pass catchers in receptions (35) and receiving yards (386) and is second among first-year players with three TD receptions. He is also the Giants’ all-time leader in receiving yards and touchdowns, with Wan’Dale Robinson just ahead of Nabers with 37 catches.

Nabers suffered his concussion on a four-down play near the end of the Giants’ Week 4 home loss to the Dallas Cowboys. He has missed the last two games – a win over the Seattle Seahawks and a loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
