4 things at 4 | 18–20 October: Free events and activities throughout the DMV this weekend

The 7News 4pm team has a list of four events for the coming weekend.

18–20 Oct

  • Food History Weekend: If you’re a foodie and history buff, the National Museum of American History is the place to be this weekend. The focus is on Julia Child’s legacy and her commitment to culinary education and empowerment through food. The winners of the Julia Child Award will be present at the cooking demonstrations. The events are free, but registration is required.

Oct 19

  • Howard Homecoming 100: Get your Bison gear ready and head to the Howard University Homecoming Parade. The event begins at 10 a.m. and will feature brass bands, dance groups and prominent guests. The route begins at Sixth Street NW at Howard Place.
  • Big Build: Show off your architectural skills at the National Building Museum on Saturday. Children of all ages are invited to the Big Build at the museum and can explore cranes and equipment parked outside. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m
  • DC Wine Fest: Dock 5 at Union Market will host the festival from noon to 10 p.m. The event will take place at 1309 5th St NE, Washington, DC 20002. Tickets range from $35 to $55.
