Davante Adams reveals he had absolutely no interest in playing for the Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs are 5-0, although they have struggled at times on offense. However, they might have been interested in trading for new New York Jets wide receiver Davante Adams.

Despite any interest from the Chiefs in Adams, he admitted he clearly didn’t want to play for the Chiefs at Up & Adams.

“Negatively,” Adams told host Kay Adams that the Chiefs were on his list of preferred teams. “It was discussed. I don’t want to say anything crazy, but the Chiefs weren’t on the list.”

Adams confirmed that the Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints were all interested in him and committed. However, these teams were not necessarily the teams he had on a list he gave to the general manager.

“Those were the ones who got involved. These weren’t the ones I wrote down on a small piece of paper and handed to the general manager. Those were the ones who were interested. It just so happened that the Jets were my number one choice, and they were probably the most, definitely the most, interested in me.

It’s no surprise that the Jets were Adams’ first choice. He has been very public about his great relationship with Aaron Rodgers. However, it’s a surprise that he doesn’t want to play with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, who are in the midst of a dynasty.

Adams likely considered the Saints because of Derek Carr, but will be out for an extended period of time with an injury. The Chiefs could really use a player of Adams’ caliber. Rashee Rice got off to a great start, but will now miss much of the year with a knee injury.
