Registration for Trapping Education Workshops is now open

The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) is offering a series of trapping education workshops on select weekends this fall and winter. The workshops will teach the historical aspects of trapping, the biology of furbearers and the use of trapping as a useful tool for wildlife management.

The workshops are open to everyone aged 7 and over. There is a $10 registration fee. To register, visit www.outdooralabama.com/trapping.

Classes begin on Saturdays with an introduction to the history of trapping, the duties of the trapper, and the different types of traps and bait used. On Saturday afternoons, students set up traps with their mentors. On Sundays, the students check the traps together with their mentors and learn how to prepare the skins.
