Will Mike Evans play against Ravens? Latest Buccaneers WR injury updates

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans suffered an injury early in the second quarter against the New Orleans Saints in Week 6. The star wide receiver left the game and went to the locker room. The team did not provide any information about the injury Evans may have sustained. He returned to the game but couldn’t do much with his snaps.

The Buccaneers’ high-flying offense has been great entering 2024, ranking 10th in offensive DVOA according to FTN.

Here’s the latest on Mike Evans’ injury and his possible return for Week 7:

Will Mike Evans play?

The 31-year-old did not practice on Oct. 17, the Thursday before the Buccaneers’ Monday Night Football matchup against the Ravens.

Head coach Todd Bowles told reporters that Evans “tweaked his leg” and the injury “nagged” him before Week 6. Bowles added that the receiver is “feeling better” and “should return to practice later in the week.”

It sounds like the team isI’m not worried about the veterans’ availability for their upcoming Monday Night Football matchup with the Ravens. Both teams have started 2024 strong with 4-2 records and will look to continue that momentum.

Evans was not on the injury report prior to Week 6, but was listed with knee and calf injuries prior to the Buccaneers’ Week 5 game against the Falcons. These are the recognizable “nagging” injuries Evans has sustained this season.

When did Mike Evans’ injury occur?

Evans left the Buccaneers’ Week 6 game with 12:25 remaining in the second quarter with Tampa Bay leading 17-10. He returned to the game after two minutes. The team has not commented on what prompted the wide receiver to go to the locker room.

Evans went to the locker room immediately after a Baker Mayfield interception.

Paul’sAdebo intercepted Mayfield and Evans possibly injured himself on the interception return. Evans chased Adebo for 15 yards before being knocked down.
