The Cowboy State’s high school football teams completed six weeks of the 2024 season this past weekend. Teams have played between five and seven depending on schedule and other circumstances. We’ve seen great performances on the gridiron and want to highlight them. These are the leaders in five statistical categories. We’ve added team totals in some areas as well as top scoring games by team.

In the last two weeks we saw two great performances from Midwest’s Quincy Paris and Little Snake River’s Bridger Cozzens. Paris managed 383 yards and 6 TDs on October 5th. That was a day after Cozzens rushed for 312 yards and 6 TDs. Caden Clifford rushed for 255 yards and 3 touchdowns last weekend. Hulett’s Kyle Smith threw for 519 yards and 11 touchdowns in a six-man game on October 5th. His teammate Hudson Reilly was the big beneficiary. Reilly made 16 catches for 321 yards and 6 touchdowns. Smith McClure of Star Valley passed for 384 yards and 4 touchdowns on October 4th. That was the same game in which Bryson Nield broke the 11-man single-game receiver record with 291 yards on 18 catches (1 under the state record). Smith of Hulett and Paris of the Midwest delivered the top two all-purpose performances. Smith had 638 total yards while Paris had 576 yards.

As for the team, Little Snake River rushed for 547 yards in its win at Dubois. Hulett and Star Valley were the top two passing yards with 538 and 400, respectively. The Red Devils finished with 799 total all-purpose yards at Midwest on October 5th. Last Friday, Star Valley rolled to 692 yards against Cody.
