LIVE: A place to find other FM Halloweens

FARGO — A local Facebook group for fans of the Halloween holiday to find decorated homes, good spots for trick-or-treating and share tips on building their own haunts is exploding.

The FM Area Halloween Trickers and Treaters group was originally founded as a personal page by local Halloween enthusiast Abby Haake.

She opened it up to the public and invited people to post Halloween-related videos of their own favorite places, shopping destinations, events, exhibitions and more.

There are now more than three thousand members.

Haake invites the public to participate and share, but asks that they stay in the Fargo-Moorhead area or surrounding cities.

She also wants people to include a warning when posting gory, non-child-friendly images.

The group page also features a live, interactive map for people you can add to your own home space to be included.

And she says the hunters in the group are always interested in sharing their best ideas, including techniques to keep the decorations from being destroyed by the strong winds and snow that our region often experiences in October .

Haake joined The Morning Show and did a live interview about what motivated her to start the group, what you can learn if you join, and how you can enter their contest for the best decorated hangout.
