Gaucho Swim is sending five to the MPSF Open Water Championships

LONG BEACH, California. – UC Santa Barbara swimming teams will send select athletes to Long Beach’s historic Marine Stadium to compete in the second annual MPSF Open Water Championships. The Gauchos will begin competition on Saturday, October 19th at 9 a.m Owen Berry, Kyle Brill, Enya Linson, Connor MartillaAnd Amelie Ogilby.

LAST TIME
The Gauchos competed in 24 events last week as part of the Bakersfield Invite. On the first day, the men took first place and the women took second place. On the second day, both teams took second place.

Samantha Banos returns from Bakersfield with numerous victories. The junior won the 50m butterfly (25.40), 100m butterfly (55.64), 200m butterfly (2:01.23) and 500m freestyle (4:57.17) while finishing in the victorious 200 m medley relay (1:44.30) and 400 m freestyle split relay (3:26.99).

Another highlight was Kyle Brills Time of 1:46.90 in the 200 IM, good for 6th all-time in the UC Santa Barbara swimming record book.

Men’s 2000 meter relay – 1:45 p.m

The events will be livestreamed by Games On Live Studio (GOLS). For those unable to attend in person, an account must be created with GOLS, with access available for purchase for $24.99.
