MP scoffed at bizarre Twitter post “Scottish Labor is powerful”.

IF you’re a British politician and you utter a sentence that would sound more natural if it came from a life coach on the California coast, you most likely don’t mean what you say.

Take, for example, the Prime Minister himself, who last month insisted he was “totally in control”.

Starmer insisted he was in charge as his Downing Street descended into chaos and negative rumors emerged about his hand-picked chief of staff, Sue Gray, who was eventually forced out.

Following his boss’ lead, MP Chris Murray was ridiculed after making a similarly “unsafe” claim – insisting his Scottish Labor colleagues were “powerful” and “numerous”.

“Excellent meeting at @10DowningStreet with my influential (and numerous) Scottish Labor colleagues talking about the change Scotland needs to see,” Murray wrote on social media.

“It’s great to speak for our communities in the middle of government.”

One user replied in a similar tone: “Yes? Well, my father is greater than your father.”

Others noted that Murray’s insistence that he is “powerful” almost certainly means that he is completely irrelevant.

“‘My powerful colleagues’ sent me,” one user wrote. “Absolutely crazy to write what can only come from the absolute certainty that you and the colleagues in question actually have no power or influence whatsoever.”

A third added: “‘My powerful (and numerous) colleagues’ is the most insecure thing I’ve seen in a politician’s post in a while.”

SNP MP Stephen Gethins told the Jouker: “It’s all well and good doing tours of Number 10. But that’s not what it’s about, it’s about influencing and standing up for Scotland and its voters.”

He added: “I think the key question is whether Scottish Labor MPs are using their time at Number 10 to advocate for Scotland or just for another photo opportunity.”

It was also notable that Murray’s strange post came on the same day that the British government slammed a Scottish Labor MP after he falsely suggested it was considering creating a bespoke Scottish visa system.

So powerful.
