WATCH TOTTENHAM vs WEST HAM LIVE

Spurs have been pretty frustrating to watch this season. They often dominated games but failed to put the finishing touches on them and were then punished for stupid defensive mistakes at the other end. Nothing illustrates this trend better than her Embarrassing collapse last time in Brighton. Postecoglou’s side were 2-0 up at half-time and lost 3-2 as their disappointing start to the new season continued and they sit on 10 points after seven games.

Under new coach Julen Lopetegui, West Ham were disappointing until he took office 4-1 against Ipswich Town before the international break. The Hammers finally had a breakthrough in attack with Antonio, Bowen, Paqueta and Kudus all on the scoresheet. Finding the right balance has been difficult for Lopetegui so far, but we are still at the very beginning of his process.

Tottenham focus, team news

Richarlison and Wilson Odobert remain out, while Heung-min Son is expected to return after missing the game against Brighton before the international break with a hamstring injury and not traveling with South Korea for the World Cup qualifiers. Left-back Destiny Udogie is questionable due to injury, so Ben Davies could start at left-back. Spurs looked so good in the first half against Brighton that it was absolutely shocking to see them collapse in the second half. Kulusevski, Johnson, Maddison and Solanke can tear teams apart and Tottenham’s next target is to score the third goal when they are on top to really finish games.

West Ham focus, team news

West Ham only have one injury concern and that is Niclas Fullkrug. The German striker has been struggling with a calf injury but is close to returning. If he’s fit, expect Fullkrug to come off the bench, while the quartet of Bowen, Kudus, Antonio and Paqueta are likely to be back in the starting XI after they looked good against Ipswich. Finding the right balance in defense and midfield will be crucial and Todibo and Kilman looked solid at centre-back in their last outing.

Tottenham vs West Ham prediction

It looks to be an open and entertaining duel as both teams have looked suspect defensively so far this season. Expect the Spurs’ added flexibility to make a difference. Tottenham 3-1 West Ham.
