Jackson Christian 3, Litchfield 0: Madi Conrad finished the game with 10 kills and five aces and Johannah Lowe dished out 23 assists and eight aces for the Royals.

Pennfield 3, Northwest 2: The Mounties won the first and third sets but lost the next two, 15-13 in the fifth set.

Boys Cross Country

Cascades Championships: Leslie High School won the Cascades Conference title Wednesday at Ella Sharp Park. Columbia Central was third, Grass Lake was sixth, Napoleon was seventh and Michigan Center was eighth. Caleb Blonde of Jonesville won the event in 16:21, Landen Boulis of Hanover-Horton was second (16:27), teammate Cooper Flick was fourth (16:48), Wyatt Vowell of Columbia Central was eighth (17:08). and John Edler of Homer was eighth (17:09). Girls Cross Country

Cascades Championships: Leslie High School also won on the girls side with 23 points and Grass Lake was second with 52 points. Hailey Creisher of Leslie won the event in 18:50, Maisey Toteff of Hanover-Horton was second (19:58), Adalyn Jarchow of Grass Lake was third (20:11) at Ella Sharp Park. D-2 at Harper Creek

Coldwater 3, Western 1: The Panthers fell in the Division 2 district final at Harper Creek on Wednesday night.

D-3 at Lansing Catholic

Williamston 5, Columbia Central 0: The Golden Eagles ended their season with a loss in the district finals at Lansing Catholic High School.

College sporting events

Jackson College 3, Oakland CC 1: The Jets earned a road win as Gracen Hager had 13 kills and Allie Jarchow and Mollie Boyle combined for 12 blocks for Jackson College. Jaden Bates recorded 22 digs and Alivia Smith finished the game with 36 assists for JC (15-6 overall, 5-3 MCCAA Eastern Division). The Jets travel to St. Clair on Monday for a 7 p.m. game.

Spring Arbor 3, Goshen 0: The Cougars won the home game and improved to 11-10 overall on the season. Kendall Bollenbacher finished with 13 kills, Isabelle Kirkendall had 10 kills, Camy Wedge had 22 assists and Kirstyn Throop added 14 digs for Spring Arbor.

Men’s football

Jackson College 5, Lakeland CC 3: With an away win, the Jets won their second win of the season. JC scored two goals in the first 10 minutes of the contest and led 3-1 at halftime. Jackson College now has a record of 2-9-1 this season. Jackson College travels to Kuyper College on October 29th for the final game of the season.

Grace 1, Spring Bower 0: The Cougars lost at home to Grace College of Indiana on Wednesday night. Jack Cristini had two saves in net for Spring Arbor (8-6-1 overall, 2-3-1 CL).

Women’s football

Jackson College 3, Lakeland CC 0: Franny Parks scored two goals and Allie Russell added another goal for JC. Serenity Wieszciecinski and Taylor Crosslan combined for the shutout in Jackson’s goal. The Jets are 8-1-2 overall, 5-0-1 in the region. Jackson will host Delta College on Saturday at 1 p.m

Spring Bower 1, Grace 0: The Cougars posted a 1-0 win on the road on Wednesday. Kayla Baar scored the only goal and Reagan Kohler earned the shutout in goal for SAU (10-3 overall, 5-1 CL).
