Battle of the Badges to raise money for breast cancer awareness

Battle of the Badges, a competition between the Steamboat Springs Police Department and the Steamboat Springs Fire Department, will raise money for community nonprofits that support breast cancer awareness.

On Nov. 2 at 9 a.m., police and firefighters will compete at Manic Athletics to raise funds for Bust of Steamboat, a local breast cancer awareness organization. Police officers and firefighters will be joining 16 people to put their physical fitness to the test in a circuit competition.

The entry fee is $50 to partner with a police officer or firefighter, or $100 to assist a firefighter or firefighter. The community is encouraged to come to the gym to cheer on the teams and learn more about Bust of Steamboat.

Those not attending can still make a donation to Bust of Steamboat by leaving a note indicating which team they think will win the event.
