Critics mock Trump after late-night panic over Kamala Harris debate

Donald Trump’s critics are excoriating him after the former president suggested he may withdraw from the debate against Vice President Kamala Harris scheduled for September 10.

Trump fired off a tirade against host ABC on his Truth Social website late Sunday night, calling the network “FAKE NEWS” and attacking some of its personalities by name.

“Where is Liddle’ George Slopadopolus hanging out now?” he wrote, presumably referring to George Stephanopoulos, host of “This Week” and co-host of “Good Morning America.”

Stephanopoulos is not one of the moderators of the debate.

He also complained that ABC had a “so-called panel of Trump haters.”

“Why should I do the debate against Kamala Harris on this network?” he wrote. “Stay tuned!!!”

The debate was originally scheduled to take place between him and President Joe Biden. Since Biden dropped out of the race and Harris took over the ticket, Trump has wavered in the debate.

CNN’s Kaitlan Collins told Bill Maher on Friday that Trump was looking for a way out, saying “he really doesn’t want it” and calling it “an open question” whether it will happen.
