Terry Bussey is listed on the initial injury report for Texas A&M Aggies vs. Mississippi State

The Texas A&M Aggies released their first student-athlete availability report ahead of Saturday’s game against the Mississippi State Bulldogs in Starkville.

As far as injuries go, not much has changed for the Aggies over the last week, but one notable name popped up in Wednesday’s report. Five-star freshman Terry Bussey from Texas A&M is currently listed as questionable due to an undisclosed injury, making his status one to keep an eye on as the Aggies inch closer to kickoff.

Third-string quarterback Jaylen Henderson, who has yet to attempt a pass this season, is listed as questionable.

Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko recently said the team “needs” Bussey this season.

“He’s becoming a technically proficient football player every day,” Elko said. “He came in as a great athlete who did so many things. I think every time he goes out he becomes a better technical and better football player. He knows that. I think that’s what drives him and what he does. “It’s great to continue to find different ways to get him the ball. … “It’s great that he’s getting more and more comfortable with the different ways we’re using him. “We’re using him now as a decoy, a guy we give the ball to. The more he learns, the more he grows, the easier it will be for him to impact the games. We will definitely need him to influence games in the future.”

Through the first five games of his college career, Bussey already ranks fourth among Texas A&M pass catchers in receiving yards (86) this season, while also handling lead returner duties on kickoffs and punts. He also added six carries for 79 yards this season. His 13.2 yards per carry is by far the highest on the team, although that number is certainly a bit skewed due to his lack of rushing attempts compared to guys like Le’Veon Moss and Amari Daniels.
