David Corenswet Eyes Role in New NFL Movie ‘Mr. “Irrelevant,” details revealed | David Corenswet, Football, Movies, NFL | Just Jared: Celebrity News and Gossip

David Corenswet is in talks for his next big leading role after playing the iconic DC series Superman.

The 31-year-old actor plays the Man of Steel Supermanfrom the director James Gunn. The film, which will be released in 2025, will reinvigorate the DC film universe.

After spending the summer filming as the ageless hero, David has a starring role in mind Mr. Irrelevantwhich tells the story of the NFL star John Tuggle.

In case you didn’t know, “Mr. Irrelevant” is the title given to the last player selected during the annual NFL Draft. John was the last athlete drafted in 1983 and he played for the New York Giants.

He died just a few years later in 1986 after being diagnosed with cancer.

Deadline reported on it David is in talks to play John in the film being directed Jonathan Levine and has a script from Nick Santora.

According to the outlet, the film will “tell the inspiring and heartfelt true story of Tuggle, who was drafted by the New York Giants, and his lasting impact on his team and teammates.”

Little is known about the project yet, but we will keep you updated as we learn more.
