Fairfax County teen lands role in German film – NBC4 Washington

For young teenagers, starting high school can be a big transition. Additionally, try to get cast in a movie.

Tamino Beba, a freshman at West Springfield High School in Fairfax County, had always loved movies, and it had always been a “far-fetched dream” to be in one, until one day that dream came true.

Beba’s family had heard of a casting call for “Woodwalkers,” a German-language film series based on the novels of the same name by German author Katja Brandis. It’s about a group of teenagers with shapeshifting abilities. Beba’s character can transform into a raven.

Beba submitted his audition video, but said, “I had just gotten out of gym class and looked really sweaty, and I just didn’t feel good at that first audition.”

Beba participates in his high school’s German immersion program and said his knowledge of German has been helpful.

“When I went there, I was so nervous that I would totally stand out and not really fit in with the other kids,” Beba said. “The actual actors are all really nice, really sweet.”

Beba said his favorite part of the set was the catering.

The first film in the series opens on Thursday, October 24th, and the second and third parts of the trilogy are currently in progress.
