Banner Health announces a .5 million donation to WYO Sports Ranch

CASPER, Wyo. – Banner Health announced in a news release Wednesday that it has donated $1.5 million to WYO Sports Ranch. The new 130,000 square meter state-of-the-art facility is described as a multifunctional space for competitions, training and events that can be used all year round

As part of the donation, the facility’s sports performance center will be named Banner Health Sports Performance Center. The 2,000-square-foot space will be equipped with high-quality industrial equipment to help children learn the importance of performance training in a safe and supervised environment.

“Training proper form across different sports and movements is critical to injury prevention in young athletes,” the press release states.

WYO Sports Ranch will feature six permanent basketball courts and one permanent turf field. More courts can be stacked on top of each other to create more space for tournaments. The opening is planned for January 2025.

“We are excited to contribute to the continued advancement of Casper and our surrounding communities and firmly believe that WYO Sports Ranch will make a difference for children and families in Wyoming,” said Lance Porter, CEO of Banner Wyoming Medical Center.

“We are incredibly grateful to Banner Health for their investment in WYO Sports Ranch,” said Luke Gilliam, general manager of the WYO Complex. “We know this gift and partnership will only improve the way young athletes and families are served across our state.”
