Men’s tennis sends six players to Waco for ITA Texas Regional

WACO – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men’s tennis team is ready to compete against some of the best players in the country heading to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Texas Regional.

The ITA Texas Regional will be held Thursday through Tuesday at Baylor’s facilities in Waco. Players of the Div. I programs across the state will gather and compete in singles and doubles for a chance to advance to the NCAA singles and doubles championships.

The action begins on Thursday at 8 a.m. with the qualifying round of 64 individual games. There will be five student-athletes participating in the UTRGV – juniors Sam Whitehead, Second year students Santiago Serrano, Ivo Isqueiro And Paolo Bonaguro, and freshmen Eduardo Menezes. The Vaqueros want to win on Thursday and advance to Friday’s contest.

Freshmen Loic Young Kriegel will begin his individual run on Friday in the main field. The doubles matches begin on Friday in the round of 64.
