Patchy frost tonight… Very slow warming trend ahead… Weather forecast update for Wednesday afternoon

Good Wednesday afternoon! Our local weather was much cooler compared to the last few days, with most of the area struggling to reach the low to mid 60s. A windy northerly wind continues to keep the air cooler despite the sun.

Temperatures will fall quickly tonight, with an expected low of over 30°C. A freeze warning has been issued for areas north of Tuscaloosa and Birmingham where frost is likely early Thursday morning. Area-wide frost is also possible outside the frost protection area. The wind will calm down overnight.

The dry weather will continue for the rest of the week and into the weekend. Look for a slow warm-up during the day with low 70s on Friday and upper 70s on Sunday. Overnight lows will remain quite cool, with 40°C Thursday night into Sunday night.

Next week, the 80s will return, but cool overnight temperatures will remain amid very dry air. I don’t see any sign of rain any time soon.

The tropics are calm, but we are observing a single tropical wave. This will turn north long before it reaches the USA.
