Will Dallas Goedert play against the Giants on Sunday?

Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday. Alex Hunter explains the impact his injury will have on the Week 7 standings.

Dallas Goedert ($4,700) injured his hamstring last Sunday against the Browns and was a DNP in practice on Wednesday.

Many reports indicate that the tight end will miss several games, and with Goedert likely out this Sunday against the Giants, Grant Calcaterra ($3,200) should serve as the Eagles’ top tight end.

With Goedert only available for 5% of snaps last Sunday, Calcaterra stepped into a larger role, catching all four of his targets for 67 yards (10.7 FPTS). The third-year pro ran a route on a season-high 89% of his team’s dropbacks and completed a finish on 17% of those routes. Of note, Calcaterra was the only Eagles tight end to see a score after Goedert was injured.

Goedert ranks seventh in target rate among tight ends this season (19.7%), so Calcaterra has a big gap to fill as the next man up to Philadelphia. This week’s matchup against the Giants isn’t the best, as New York is more vulnerable on the ground than in the air, but nonetheless Calcaterra is a viable starter for fantasy players in need of a replacement for Goedert. Additionally, Calcaterra is a solid all-format target at just $3,200 at DraftKings for DFS.

On the DraftKings Sportsbookthe Eagles are three-point favorites over the Giants.
