New UCLA NIL fund has already raised M for football – Daily News

LOS ANGELES – Bruins for Life, UCLA’s newest NIL collective, has raised $1 million specifically for football.

“We already have seven numbers,” head coach DeShaun Foster said. “We’re going to continue to raise money, and that’s what it takes in college football right now to change teams. You have to have some money to attract people to come.”

UCLA Athletics announced a collective restructuring of NIL on Tuesday, revealing that there are now three separate funds under Champion of Westwood. Bruins for Life will focus on soccer, while Men of Westwood will focus on men’s basketball and Champions of Westwood will support women’s basketball and Olympic sports.

“As this organization evolves, the goal is the same – to help UCLA Athletics remain competitive in the Zero Era,” Champion of Westwood CEO Ken Graiwer said in a press release.

Bruins for Life does not work with the 1919 Players Fund, an athlete-run NIL studio founded by Bruins quarterback Chase Griffin, but Foster said he hopes to bring the two together at some point.

Launched in early September, the 1919 Players Fund brings together brands, companies and donors to partner with UCLA athletes.
