The Eagles open the practice window for Albert Okwuegbunam

The Eagles opened the 21-day practice window for tight end Albert Okwuegbunam on Wednesday. He was placed on injured reserve; Scheduled to return August 27th.

Okwuegbunam was acquired from the Eagles in a deal with the Denver Broncos in August 2023 and played in four games last season, playing 57 offensive snaps.

Okwuegbunam originally entered the league in 2020 as a fourth-round pick of the Broncos out of Missouri. During the NFL Scouting Combine before the NFL Draft, Okwuegbuam (6-foot-5, 258 pounds) ran a 40-yard dash in 4.49 seconds, which was then the fourth-fastest of all tight ends since 2003.

In three seasons with Denver, Okwuegbunam caught 54 passes for 546 yards (10.1 yards per reception) and four touchdowns.

The Eagles would need to clear a spot on the roster for Okwuegbunam to be activated. The Eagles currently have Dallas Goedert, Grant Calcaterra and Jack Stoll on the active roster, with EJ Jenkins and CJ Uzomah on the practice squad.
