Wednesday evening forecast from First To Know

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) – The first widespread cold snap of the season hit the region today due to blustery northerly winds. Skies will remain clear throughout the evening and night. The wind dies down a bit, but doesn’t calm down completely. This could be a good thing to prevent the coldest low temperatures from occurring overnight. However, we will easily see evening temperatures dropping to 50°C before sunset, rising to 40°C before midnight, and morning lows bottoming out at under 40°C. Some values above 30 can be reached in the interior of South Georgia.

In light winds, a wind chill effect can occur, making the air feel more like below 30°C at dawn. No cold warnings have been issued so far.

The dry situation will ensure bright and plentiful sunshine as winds will still be around 5 to 12 mph through Thursday afternoon. There will be a steady warming that will bring us highs into the upper 60s and lower 70s.

Full weather weather will return Friday morning with lows in the 40s, but the rest of the week and weekend will see more warming, taking us closer to averages in the mid and upper 50s for the lows and into the upper 70s will bring low 80s for maximum temperatures. There will still be a few clouds, but there will still be plenty of sunshine along this route.

Next week will start off partly cloudy and mild. Rain chances will be near or zero in most local areas and the tropics will behave.
