Community Visioning Open House on October 21st at DECC

What would downtown Duluth look like in five years? The city wants to know what your vision is for the community and will be holding a meeting soon.

Community Visioning Open Day

The Community Visioning Open House will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024 at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center. Visit them from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the DECC Symphony Hall on the Mezzanine Level. The program starts at 5:30 p.m.

This is part of Imagine Downtown. It is a vision of a welcoming, vibrant and prosperous neighborhood where everyone feels at home.

Imagine Duluth by 2030

Imagine Duluth’s goal for its downtown to be full of opportunity, community connections and housing for students, young people and families of all shapes and sizes by 2030.

The main goals Imagine Duluth is working toward include:

• Improve safety by addressing homelessness, mental health issues and substance abuse while continuing to improve public safety.
• They connect key districts through walkways and designed spaces that unify downtown and make it accessible from places like Canal Park to the historic arts and theater district.
• Establish a unique brand that captures Duluth’s character.
• Enliven public spaces with year-round events.
• Identify remediation opportunities.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, you can still share your thoughts on the future of downtown Duluth by completing the online survey. It is available on the Downtown Duluth website. You’ll also be entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card to Vitta Pizza. The survey will take approximately 7-10 minutes if you answer all the questions.
