Here are the road closures

(WXYZ) — The 2024 Detroit Free Press Marathon will take place Sunday morning in downtown Detroit and the event is sold out.

Tens of thousands of runners and spectators will converge on the city for the annual event, and numerous streets will be closed for the marathon.

It is an international marathon in which runners cross the Ambassador Bridge into Canada and then return to the United States through the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel.

According to organizers, traffic on the Ambassador Bridge will be restricted on Sunday. This means that there is oncoming traffic on one side of the bridge and runners on the other side. A buffer track separates the two.

The Detroit-Windsor Tunnel will be completely closed to vehicle traffic from 6:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. and traffic will be allowed to pass through again thereafter.

The main roads that will be closed for the marathon include:

• Woodward Ave.
• Fort St.
• Congress St.
• E. Lafayette
