ROCHESTER, MN (KROC-AM News) – Rochester police say they have found the driver of a Jeep who was seen on video driving over a gas pump at a gas station in Rochester.

Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson says officers were dispatched to the supermarket to assist with a fire call just before 1:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

The call came from the Marathon gas station on the corner of 4th St. and 11th Ave. Southeast. Responding officers discovered that one of the pumps at the station had been overturned and was on fire, Grayson says.

Police then cleared the gas station and made sure no one was inside, Grayson said. Video of the incident shows a Jeep pulling into the store’s parking lot and driving over the gas pump.

Flames can then be seen coming from an area between the pump and the vehicle’s grille. The vehicle is then seen reversing and driving away.

Grayson says officers received the vehicle’s information and located it at the registered owner’s address.

According to the police report, there was damage consistent with the description given by witnesses.
