The key specifications of the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G have been leaked via benchmark list

Regardless of whether the Galaxy A35 is popular with customers looking for a mid-range phone or not, Samsung is already planning a sequel. The unannounced Samsung Galaxy A36 5G is said to bring some improvements over the previous model while still targeting the same target group that specifically buys mid-range phones. However, the first details about the Galaxy A36 5G have just been discovered online. The phone recently appeared on Geekbench, which means we get some information about its hardware (via 91mobiles).

The Galaxy A36 5G is listed with the model number SM-A366B and runs Android 15, which is really surprising considering Samsung is struggling to release a beta version of this new Android version.

The results are not that important, but the screenshot below contains all the information listed on Geekbench. When it comes to hardware, things are a bit tricky. The Galaxy A36 5G is equipped with a so-called “Parrot” chipset, which we believe is the code name for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor.

If that turns out to be true, things aren’t looking so good for the Galaxy A36 5G as the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 was launched two years ago and it will take almost three years for the phone to hit the market .

However, it’s possible that the Galaxy A36 5G will use Qualcomm’s newer Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset instead, especially since the cores are clocked at 2.4GHz and 1.8GHz respectively.

By comparison, the Galaxy A35 uses Samsung’s homegrown Exynos 1380 chipset, so almost anything from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 or 7 family released this year would be considered an upgrade to the Galaxy A36 5G.

Just like the Galaxy A35, the successor will have at least 6GB of RAM, but Samsung will likely offer an 8GB RAM model as well. Depending on the upgrades added, Samsung may or may not keep the price at $370 or €330.

As for availability, we doubt this will arrive before the first quarter of 2025. The Galaxy A35 5G was released in March, so we expect the Galaxy A36 5G to launch around the same time next year.
