Moscow police arrest business partner of bar owner injured in car bomb attack

The business partner of a prominent Moscow bar owner has been arrested as part of an investigation into a car bombing that injured the owner and his 6-year-old son this week, authorities and Russian media report reported early Wednesday.

Shaker Group CEO and co-founder Viktor Mishachev, his son and his neighbor were hospitalized after an explosive device attached to the hood of his SUV exploded in southwest Moscow on Tuesday morning.

Investigators opened a criminal investigation into attempted murder and said Mishachev, 44, may have been targeted over a business or personal dispute.

Around midnight on Wednesday, the Moscow branches of the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office and the Investigative Committee, which investigates serious crimes, announced the arrest of Mishachev’s business partner. Police officers did not give the man’s name. proverb just that he is 50 years old.

Investigator released Videos of what appears to be a cache of weapons discovered and confiscated during a search of the man’s home.

State media citing open company data, reported that Slobodyanik and Mishachev jointly founded 12 companies in Moscow, St. Petersburg, as well as in the Sverdlovsk Region and the Republic of Tatarstan.

The business partners each reportedly own a 25% stake in three of these companies, including Shaker Group – which operates popular bars Coyote Ugly, Humans Seafood Bar, True Cost and Govyadina – where Mishachev is listed as CEO.
