The film “Until Dawn” is scheduled to hit theaters in April 2025

Sony has confirmed that the film Until Dawn will be released on April 25, 2025 through its Screen Gems company (via Deadline). The film “Until Dawn” was announced earlier this year, with David F. Sandberg directing. He previously directed the horror films Lights Out and Annabelle: Creation, as well as the more lighthearted superhero film Shazam!

The cast of Until Dawn includes Peter Stormare, who has had a long career as an actor in major blockbusters and video games, Michael Cimino, Ella Rubin, Ji-young Yoo, Belmont Cameli, Odessa A’zion and Maia Mitchell. It remains to be seen how Until Dawn will translate to the big screen, as the game has multiple branches and endings depending on the player’s choice. From what we know, there will be multiple versions of the film with different endings, or it will have its own unique ending that differs from the ones in the game. The story of Until Dawn follows a group of young adults who stay in a remote lodge on Blackwood Mountain, which, unbeknownst to them, is a sort of hunting ground and they become prey. Every playable character in Until Dawn can be killed at any time, depending on the player’s own decisions, making it nearly impossible to predict which plot path the film will take.

Until Dawn was recently reissued and released following its original release in 2014. In our review of the Until Dawn remake, Tuffcub said: “Until Dawn remains a fantastic horror game with great acting and plenty of jump scares to unnerve you. While not essential to anyone who enjoyed the original game, this remake makes it accessible to a new audience and is a solid update to what was already a great game.”
