The Whitefish Fire Department is hosting an open house

The City of Whitefish Fire Department is hosting an open house on Saturday, October 19th. This free family event will be held at the Emergency Services Center at 275 Flathead Avenue in Whitefish from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The public is invited to view the emergency vehicles and ALERT helicopter, meet local first responders and enjoy free hot dogs and refreshments. Kids learn how to stay safe this Halloween by being seen. Additionally, free reflective trick-or-treat bags and glow-in-the-dark wristbands are available while supplies last. There will also be free face painting, activity books and educational fire safety information.

Children of all ages are welcome to touch the new E-One fire engine purchased by the Whitefish Fire Service Area. The Department of Natural Resource Conservation’s Stillwater State Forest Service team is available to answer questions about wildfires. Three authentic artifacts from the World Trade Center are also on display. These portions of the Twin Towers will become part of the Whitefish 9/11 Memorial Project. For more information about this fun event, contact the Whitefish Fire Department at (406) 863-2483.
