Donald Trump reveals why he didn’t like playing football…even though he shared similarities with Travis Kelce

Former President Donald Trump has revealed that he prefers playing football in the stands rather than on the field.

The Republican candidate, 78, who also revealed a failed attempt to buy an NFL franchise, revealed his football days on Tuesday.

The presidential candidate revealed in an interview with “Bussin’ With The Boys” that although he could “catch the ball well” as a tight end like Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, he wasn’t a big fan of some elements of the American favorite be sport.

Trump, who is on the campaign trail to retake the White House, admitted he struggled with the rigor and strength of the game.

“I didn’t like that a guy who lifted weights all day and came from a bad neighborhood and saw me… and tackled me hard,” he confessed on the popular YouTube show.

Trump was a three-sport athlete at New York Military Academy and played on the football team for one year.

Although Trump wasn’t a big fan of being on the field, his passion for football remained with him.

Just last month, he sent the crowd into a frenzy while attending a college football showdown between Alabama and Georgia.

And the businessman also revealed on Tuesday that he almost incorporated his love of sports into his business empire.

Trump offered the Bills $1 billion in cash a decade ago after the death of founder and Hall of Famer Ralph Wilson.

Trump was one of three known finalists in the battle to lead Buffalo. A group led by rock star Jon Bon Jovi also expressed interest in taking over the team.

In the end, however, the owners of the NHL’s Buffalo Sabers, Terry and Kim Pegula, won the contract with an offer of $1.4 billion.

Asked how close he came to closing the deal, Trump said: “Not close.” The owner who got it is a very good man. I think he did a great job. “Well, he made a great choice — he picked a great quarterback in Josh (Allen).”

The Republican candidate added: “I offered $1 billion and issued a letter of credit. “I thought I could get it because it was in Buffalo, where there were some problems … and (Pegula) $1.4 billion offered – that is, $400 million more.

“I don’t think it was a very serious run, but I gave them a $1 billion guarantee, so that’s always serious, right?”

However, the former president has had a rather controversial relationship with the NFL in recent years.

In 2017, during his tenure in the Oval Office, Trump made inflammatory comments about the league and its players.

Trump called for NFL players to be fired for kneeling during the national anthem during a social media outburst.

The debate over the national anthem led to the White House canceling the June 2018 visit of the Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, a tradition for all championship teams in the United States.

“The Philadelphia Eagles cannot bring their entire team to the White House to be celebrated tomorrow. “They disagree with their president because he insists that they stand proudly, hand-on-heart, for the national anthem in honor of the great men and women of our military and the people of our country,” Trump said in a statement at the time .
