*USC travels its furthest distance this season across the country to just outside of our nation’s capital to challenge Maryland for the first time ever in USC football history.

*The Trojans take on the Terrapins on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. PT / 4 p.m. ET.

PENN STATE GAME RECAP

*USC fell 30-33 in a devastating overtime loss against No. 4 Penn State on Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Coliseum.

*All 3 of USC’s losses have been within 1 score (3 points versus Michigan and Penn State and 7 points versus Minnesota), and all have been within the last minute of regulation play or in overtime.

*USC scored a Penn State opponent season-high 30 points. Penn State had held 4 of its previous 5 opponents to 12 points or less.

*USC’s field goal in the third quarter was the first 3 points Penn State has allowed in the third quarter this season.

*QB Miller Moss went 20-of 34 (.588) for 220 yards with 2 TDs and 1 INT.

*RB Woody Marks recorded his sixth career 100-yard rushing game collecting 20 carries for 111 yards (5.6 avg.). He also had 2 receptions for 44 yards.

*WR Makai Lemon led the Trojans with 6 receptions for 73 yards (12.2 avg.).

*RB Quinten Joyner scored twice for the Trojans – once on 75-yard rush in the first quarter and once on a 9-yard pass from Moss in the second quarter.

*His 75-yard score was a career-long run and the longest play from scrimmage by a Trojan this season. It was also the longest rush by a Trojan since Ronald Jones II had an 86-yard TD run at Washington State on Sept. 29, 2017, as well as the longest from scrimmage by the Trojans since Tahj Washington had a 76-yard TD catch versus San Jose State on Aug. 26, 2023.

*Joyner is the first Trojan to have a rushing and receiving TD in the same game since Austin Jones had a rushing and receiving TD versus California on Oct. 28, 2023.

*This is the second career 2 TD game for Joyner, the other being this season against Utah State (both rushing).

*WR Kyron Hudson scored on a 5-yard pass from Moss in the fourth quarter.

*LB Easton Mascarenas-Arnold led the team with 13 tackles.

*Three Trojans nabbed INTs: Mascarenas-Arnold, LB Desman Stephens II who returned an INT for 42 yards and WR Duce Robinson who was playing defense and returned his INT for 35 yards which sent the game into overtime.

*In OT, K Michael Lantz pushed a 45-yard field goal wide left before PSU kicker, Ryan Barker, hit the game-winner from 36 yards.

OTHER STATS OF NOTE

*RB Quinten Joyner rushed for 75 yards in the first quarter last week which was the second-most among FBS RBs.

*USC has not allowed a first down on any of its opponents’ 7 rush attempts on third-and-long this season, which is tied for the best in the Big Ten.

*USC has allowed just 2.2 yards per attempt (51 yards/23 attempts) on third-and-long this season, which is the best among Power Conference teams.

*Per PFF, OL Emmanuel Pregnon was USC’s highest graded pass blocker against Penn State with an 83.2 grade.

*Pregnon has not allowed a pressure in USC’s last two games.

*Among offensive linemen with 380 snaps or more, Pregnon’s 78.5 season-long pass blocking grade is ranked No. 8 in the Big Ten.
