SeaLegacy unveils new music video for Pearl Jam’s Dark Matter

Inspired by Dark matter and Eddie’s poignant vocals, SeaLegacy’s video reinforces the urgent call to action for the future of our planet and reveals the plight of our world through the lens of nature. During this time of rapid environmental change, endangered marine species and vulnerable coastal indigenous communities face increasing threats.

Renowned photographer and filmmaker Paul Nicklen, along with creative producer and film editor Jason Smith, combine Nicklen’s stunning images with Pearl Jam’s passionate call to collective action. Together they shine a spotlight on the urgent need to combat overfishing, pollution and the devastating effects of climate change on our oceans and marine life.

Co-founded in 2014 by Paul Nicklen and Cristina Mittermeier, SeaLegacy aims to inspire a global community to fall in love with the sea. Through world-class visual storytelling, they aim to mobilize a network of changemakers and advance diplomatic solutions that protect the world’s most valuable ecosystems. By combining art and activism, SeaLegacy gives hope and compels people to take action for the future of our planet. Stand up and be the voice for our ocean at SeaLegacy.org. Now.

We stand on the front lines of a new climate era: a world built on stolen lands, stolen waters and stolen futures” wrote Pearl Jam on their Instagram page, “Without our voice for the oceans and the earth, our fellow species will disappear in silence. Change begins with awareness and the courage to act. Stand up and be the voice for our ocean at SeaLegacy.org.
