Trump was ridiculed after playing “Time to Say Goodbye” during a bizarre town hall event

Donald Trump was ridiculed after he awkwardly swayed back and forth while listening to music, including the song “Time to Say Goodbye,” at his town hall rally on Monday in Oaks, Pennsylvania.

The campaign event, hosted by South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, was derailed after two people in the audience collapsed during a question-and-answer session and required medical attention.

The sudden turn of events forced Trump to improvise and fill the time, but after asking if “anyone else would like to faint,” he decided that postponing any further questions would be the best option instead, “let’s just listen to music.”

What followed next was Trump playing his Spotify playlist for practically an hour while Noem stood awkwardly next to him, occasionally nodding.

In contrast, the ex-president did little other than move back and forth a bit, sometimes pausing the proceedings to address the audience.

The audience, who strangely remained in attendance, were treated to Luciano Pavarotti’s rendition of “Ave Marie,” Sinead O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares 2 U,” Guns N’ Roses’ “November Rain,” and James Brown’s “It’s A Man’s World,” to name a few just a few.

Rufus Wainwright’s version of the Leonard Cohen classic “Hallelujah” was also played SNL Actor James Austin Johnson pointed out that he was used in the film Shrek Soundtrack.

Perhaps the strangest moment was when “Time to Say Goodbye,” made famous by Andrea Boccelli and Sarah Brightman, started playing and many made the same joke.

One person wrote: “This song is called ‘Time to Say Goodbye.’ It’s often sung at funerals, but it’s also the perfect song for Trump.”

Another said: “‘Time to say goodbye’ is the most appropriate Trump campaign song ever sung.”

A third person joked: “This is the final scene of the later HBO movie about this whole thing.”

Reacting to the strange episode, his election opponent Kamala Harris simply said: “I hope he’s okay.”

Trump has regularly faced opposition and lawsuits from musicians for playing their songs at his events. Jack White, Abba, Isaac Hayes and Eddy Grant sued the former president.

During the actual town hall meeting, consumer prices were the focus of the three people who managed to ask questions before doctors had to intervene. Trump repeatedly said he would cut costs but rarely provided further details.

He said he would encourage the U.S. fossil fuel industry to “drill, baby, drill!” — which he promised would cut the price of energy by half within the first 12 months of his presidency.
