Al Pacino Talks ‘The Godfather’, ‘Scarface’ and ‘Sonny Boy’

Al Pacino has revealed the film he really wanted to win an Oscar for.

The star is promoting his book Sonny Boy This week in the UK and although he has had a fairly successful career, he said there was one achievement that he felt was somewhat overlooked – Scarface.

Pacino played Tony Montana in Brian De Palma’s film, immortalizing the phrase “Say hello to my little friend.” Scarface was completely rejected by the academy.

This morning on the BBC Today On the show, Pacino called the film the film he would have liked to win an Oscar for. “I would have even liked to be nominated for it,” he said Scarface.

As it turned out, he would win his Oscar a decade later scent of a woman, while he was nominated a further seven times, including the first two Godparents.
