Live Music Calendar: 18th-28th October 2024

Corsana-Baiza-Watt, Disaster Queen, The Sheen
8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, The Shakedown, 1212 N. State St.

Joe Baiza (Saccharine Trust) and Mike Watt (Minutemen, fIREHOSE) are both heroes of the 80s California punk scene. They have a new instrumental trio with drummer Chris Corsano and are going on tour for the first time. Expect heavy improvisations on the avant-garde side when they stop by The Shakedown on Tuesday, October 22nd. Local openers Disaster Queen and The Sheen start things off.

Jenner Fox
7:30-9 p.m. Thursday, October 24, New Prospect Theater, 207 Prospect St.

Jenner Fox is an outstanding singer-songwriter from Seattle who has earned Bellinghamster honorary status for constantly playing here and collaborating with our local musicians. His most recent album, a duet with guitarist Jeremy Eliott (formerly of Polecat), was recorded here. I suspect he will have a lot of guests at his show at the New Prospect Theater on Thursday October 24th.

Halloween cover show
6-11:30 p.m., Saturday, October 26, Make.Shift, 306 Flora St.

The Make.Shift Cover Shows are a twice-yearly event that serves at least three purposes. They raise funds for this vital organization, they bring together new groups of musicians for short-term bands and build community, and they’re a lot of fun. This year’s Halloween edition takes place on October 26th and features nine bands paying tribute to Alice in Chains, Smashing Pumpkins, The Misfits and many more of your favorite spooky punk and metal bands in one-night configurations.

Gail Pettis
4-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, FireHouse Arts and Events Center, 1314 Harris Ave.

One of Seattle’s finest straight-ahead jazz singers, Gail Pettis is equally at home in a gentle ballad or a lively up-tempo swing. She will be at the FireHouse on Sunday, October 27th for a Jazz Project afternoon show, accompanied by a piano trio from some of our best locals: Blake Angelos, Jeff Johnson and Jud Sherwood.
