Apple releases iOS 18.1 Beta 7 to developers with Apple Intelligence improvements ahead of final public release

Apple has made the seventh version of the iOS 18.1 beta update available to developers for testing purposes ahead of its final release later this month. The company is taking its time with the final release as it may be one of the biggest updates for the company considering it brings Apple Intelligence features. The latest iPhone 16 lineup is no different than its previous models when it comes to software utilities, but iOS 18.1 is set to change that.

Apple releases iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 Beta 7 for developers to test Apple Intelligence features

If you are a developer, you can now download and install the latest iOS 18.1 beta on your iPhone 15 Pro and later models. These are the only supported models that have Apple Intelligence features. You can download the update via Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates and Install Download the latest build by following the on-screen instructions.

Apple Intelligence is one of the biggest additions iOS has to offer and will completely change the way we use our iPhones. However, you must note that Apple Intelligence features will be quite limited in iOS 18.1, which Apple announced on stage at its WWDC event. This is because the company has divided the service into different upgrades and it will take some time for some features to arrive, namely until next year.

What to expect with iOS 18.1: Apple Intelligence brings writing tools that let you edit text, check spelling, correct grammar, and change the tone of text. You can also summarize the text for better understanding. There will also be a redesign for Siri with a subtle shine around the entire display. Siri will be able to better understand context and much more. There are also smart replies in the Messages and Mail apps.

There’s a lot more to offer from Apple, but the latest Apple Intelligence features would be quite subtle compared to the overall experience. We’ve already mentioned that Apple may be changing its strategy of offering hardware and software updates, making the release cycle very unpredictable. Apple has also released iPadOS 18.1 Beta 7 to developers, so be sure to install it and check out what’s new in the latest version. The company is expected to release iOS 18.1 later this month, possibly on October 28th. We’ll be keeping a close eye on the company’s plans, so stay tuned.
