For those looking for an elegant yet low-maintenance look for winter, the micro mini bob could be the right choice.

“The chin bob is going to be a big trend and will give an elegant, daring and confident look to those who want something sharp and polished,” says Korab. Very chic.

The daring pixie cut is great for any hair texture, from tight curls to pin-straight curls.

“There are many cuts that can be worn with curly and curly hair – my favorite is a pixie cut,” says Ashley, who even appreciates the growth phase with this cut. “For those growing out their pixie and donning a layered bob, it’s a fun and playful cut that’s soft and has lots of texture.”

Korab reflects the mood. “A soft pixie cut will appeal to those looking for a bold, playful change with a touch of edginess.”

Not quite ready to put an end to your long hair? Adding a few layers could give you the refresh you need without having to do a serious trim.

“A long haircut is a timeless style that always stays on trend,” says Korab. “It’s versatile, suits most face shapes, suits any hair type, and provides volume while maintaining length.”

Cleveland loves the look for its innate playfulness. “Layers create movement in the hair and ultimately a more youthful and happy appearance,” she says.

Celebrities like Hailee Steinfeld, Sydney Sweeney, Gigi Hadid, Lily Collins, and countless others have recently opted for a mood-changing bob cut. If you’re still unsure whether you want to hit the road, consider this your sign.

“The bob is timeless and essentially the equivalent of your classic little black dress,” says Cleveland. “It has withstood decades of trends and will always be in style.”

“Its strong lines and structure exude confidence,” adds Ashley. “It can be used on both curly and straight hair and works for all generations – so it doesn’t matter how old you are.”

Wolf cut shags are trending for winter 2024 and the style is suitable for both long and shorter lengths.

“Some who are looking for a change may opt for edgy and dramatic cuts like a wolf haircut,” says Korab. It also works on every hair type.

“A wolf cut is basically when a shag and a mullet have a baby,” Kayganich, a Hairstory Network stylist-hairstylist who specializes in curly hair types, previously told Bustle. “It can be a good style for people with curly hair—especially if it’s someone with thick, fine hair—because it can add a lot of volume on top.”

One thing about the It girls of the 1990s: They knew how to style their strands with tons of sultry volume and bounce. Ashley recommends leaning toward the OGs for the winter season.

“The ’90s styles had the perfect layered cuts full of volume and face-framing pieces,” she says. “This classic cut still looks great—but to make it more modern, you can add thick bangs right at the brow line.”

Megan Thee Stallion has been known to play around with her look on the regular – and lately she’s been looking like a modern-day Amélie-meets-Betty Boop with her bob, bangs and curly fringe combo. And that style, according to Cleveland, will be trending this season.

“Bobs with bangs are everywhere this fall, and I don’t suspect they’ll be leaving anytime soon,” she tells Bustle. “The look screams sophistication and power.”
