Natchitoches Police arrest suspect for aggravated assault and resisting arrest

NATCHITOCHES, La. (CALF) – A Natchitoches woman has been arrested on charges of aggravated assault, according to Natchitoches police.

Police responded to the 800 block of Clarence Drive at approximately 11:53 p.m. on October 12th in reference to shots fired at a home. Officers spoke with the victim, who said her friend fired a gun after an argument at her home and left the area.

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s deputies located the suspect, Aniya Davis, 25, who was driving on Airport Road. After a traffic stop, Davis led officers and deputies on a short foot chase before she was arrested. A Glock 9mm pistol was found in her possession.

Davis was charged with aggravated assault on a partner and resisting an officer while fleeing. She was lodged at the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.
