The JoBlo Horror Originals staff shares Halloween movie picks

The staff of the YouTube channel JoBlo Horror Originals share their recommendations for viewing Halloween horror films

Over at the JoBlo Horror Originals YouTube channel, we talk about horror movies and TV shows all year long — but that doesn’t mean the “spooky season” leading up to Halloween isn’t a special time of year for us. Although I watch horror films all year round, for me October is a month-long horror marathon where I try to squeeze in as many horror films as possible each day. Halloween is my favorite holiday and on this day I make sure to watch things like this FleshEater (1988), murder party (2007), The cave (2004), trick or treating (1986) and trick or treating (2007). And maybe something with Michael Myers. In anticipation of the Halloween festivities, several of our JoBlo Horror Originals staff members came together to offer some horror movie recommendations – and you can see them reveal their Halloween selection tips in the video embedded above!

Tyler Nichols reveals he will be watching Revenge (2017), Dead & Breakfast (2004) and Night of terror. The 1985 version, not the remake. Andrew Hatfield will also watch the original Night of terror this Halloween, along with The monster squad and the Halloween Sequel that Michael Myers missed, Halloween III: Season of the Witch. John “The Arrow” Fallon will be looking at one of my personal favorites: trick or treating (1986), along with an entry from my favorite series, Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI (1986) – this happens to be the film that I think got me into the horror genre in the first place. He will complete his triple feature with Night of horrors (1986). Mike Conway recommends a visit Hellfest (2018), Track (2019), trick or treating (2007) and the family-friendly Ernest Scared Stupid (1991). Mike Holtz deals with the classics of the 80s The evil dead (1981), Pumpkin head (1988) and poltergeist (1982), along with something from the Halloween Franchise. Niki Minter’s tips are The Addams Family (1991), Scream (1996) and The crow (1994). And Lance Vlcek starts mentioning it May (2002) and Little monsters (1989) then covers vampires, werewolves and demons with his tips: Bloodstone: Subtype II (1993), Evil moon (1996) and the original Night of the Demons (1988).
