It will rain again on Monday and snow cannot be ruled out

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – Sunday brought us some much-needed rain, and even more rain is forecast for Monday. Rain showers will be fairly scattered throughout the day as some communities may still see an additional 0.25 to 0.5 inches as the showers move out of the area. Additionally, there could be a few snowflakes mixed in earlier in the day if you live in the Northwoods. However, snow will be difficult to accumulate due to warmer surfaces. The rain should stop by Tuesday morning at the latest.

Highs on Monday will only reach the low to mid 40s under cloudy skies. In addition, breezy winds will come into play early on. The wind chill will be felt early. Winds will be less breezy later in the day, but some gusts will pick up again Tuesday, reaching speeds of 20-30 mph. We’ll have some cool mornings over the next few days. There will likely be some frost each morning Monday through Thursday. The biggest opportunity for this will be in the Northwoods.

We will warm up throughout the week. Highs will be back in the mid 60s on Wednesday and we’ll reach near 70° by the end of the week. Our next Weathermaker is expected to arrive next weekend on Saturday after a few more showers today. It’s too early to tell how much precipitation we’ll get.
