Oldenburg Academy defeated host Milan 5-0 to capture the Class 1A boys soccer sectional championship in a game broadcast Saturday night on WRBI. Henry Wanstrath and Connor Holder each scored two goals while Hayden Blair added a goal for the Twisters, who will host Shawe Memorial in Thursday’s regional semifinal. Also in the boys soccer sectional on Saturday, East Central lost to host Center Grove 5-1.

In the girls soccer sectional championship on Saturday, OA defeated host Rising Sun 5-0. The Twisters host Monrovia in the regional semifinals on Wednesday. East Central wins the New Palestine 3A sectional by defeating Greenfield-Central 5-0. The Trojans will face Franklin Central in the regional semifinals on Wednesday. And it was Lawrenceburg over South Dearborn 3-0 in the 3A title game in Batesville.

The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the New York Mets 9-0 in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series. The Dodgers take a one-game lead in the best-of-seven series. Game 2 is this afternoon in LA. Game 1 of the American League Championship Series between Cleveland and the New York Yankees takes place tonight in the Bronx.

Kyle Larson took the checkered flag at the NASCAR Cup playoff race in Charlotte, North Carolina on Sunday.
