First alarm forecast: warm, cool now, later

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Temperatures will take us on a roller coaster ride this week, with a warm start and a cool end. Ahead of a cold front, highs on Monday are expected to be in the low and mid 80s; Behind this strong front, days will become cooler during the week and even cooler 40s will return to overnight lows. Dry conditions will continue in October and the chances of little or no rain during your First Alarm forecast are slim.

The Carolinas currently face no apparent threat from tropical weather. Tuesday, October 15, marks the start of the final quarter of hurricane season and marks the 70th anniversary of the devastating Cape Fear Hurricane Hazel.
